Qivitoq /Kravitok/ n. Mountain walker; a person who hides in the wilderness to escape the society, an outcast.
In July 2002 we established a new route on a peak in the
Tininnertuup Quaqqat massive on south-eastern Greenland, here are some
basic route information:
- Name:
- Qivitoq, the east-pillar of Tininnertuup Quaqqaat.
- First ascension:
- 19-29/7, 2002. Erik Massih, Bjørn Krane and Mårten Blixt.
- Features:
- 26 pitches, 1000 m. A2/7+.
Only two pitches required aid, which would have gone free had the weather been better. Three to five days would be enough to repeat the route (one day in future speed ascents!).
